Istanbul Archaeological
Museum is located between famous St. Sophia Museum - St Irini Church
and Topkapi Palace. These are situated at the boundary of the first
court of Topkapý Palace. Museum is must see and recommended that it
contain very rich collection of classical antiquities in the
Archaelogical Museum includes the celebrated Alexander Sarcophagus,
and the (Assos) Athena Temple.
The museum of the Ancient Orient displays antiquities from the
Sumerian, Babylonian, Assyrian, Hatti and Hittite civilizations,
Lydian, Lycian, Roman and Byzantian periods.
