One of the most
prominent cities of Turkey, a capital of the early Ottoman state,
Bursa is a multifaceted city that is at once industrial, green and
historical. Located on the lower green slopes of Uludag mountain and
extending onto the fertile plain of the Nilüfer stream, it has one
of the most beautiful settings among all Turkish cities.
Bursa was the first capital of the flourishing Ottoman Empire,
before Edirne and Istanbul were joined into its confines.
